Teen Volunteering

Our Volunteer Team is integral to the U City Library Summer Reading Program

Who can volunteer? U City Library asks that our summer reading program volunteers be entering at least the 7th Grade at the time that they volunteer.

What do our volunteers do?  Volunteers attend training in May, and then work at least one 1-hour shift per week for at least 4 weeks in May, June & July.

They also:
👂LISTEN to young readers and award them prizes                          🎊WIN prizes for themselves
🥰MAKE friends and have fun                                                                👍EARN community service hours

Volunteer Training takes place in late April and early May. Exact dates appear on the volunteer applications below.

If your teen is interested in volunteering for this year’s summer reading program and would be a new volunteer to the library, you will need to fill out a NEW VOLUNTEER APPLICATION.

If your teen has volunteered for a previous summer, please fill out the RETURNING VOLUNTEER APPLICATION.

Applications will become available in April of each year.

This project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.
