Tech for Kids

Youth Services is excited to offer coding camps for kids. These programs teach kids how to code using Scratch and UCPL’s in-house technology. These camps have been suspended while we renovate our building, but they will be listed on the events calendar when camps resume.

UCPL’s Youth Services department offers kids public computers to do homework, learn, and have fun. Additionally, two Education Stations have more than 50 award-winning educational games and art programs.

Thanks to a partnership with Cinema St. Louis, UCPL offers vacation filmmaking camps for kids and teens. These week-long programs focus on either live-action or stop-motion animation filmmaking. These camps have been suspended while we renovate our building, but they will be listed on the events calendar when camps resume.

Visitors to our Youth Services department can play educational games on our two iPad stations, which are loaded with fun and educational early literacy apps.

Our collection of Playaway LaunchPads offers kids educational apps pre-loaded onto durable tablets. Each LaunchPad has a theme, from learning the ABCs and 123s to science and math for older kids. These devices can be checked out on an adult card.

UCPL has take-home technology kits that allow kids to explore STEAM outside the Library. The Makey Makey kit shown here and the Specdrums can be checked out on an adult card. For more information, visit the STEAM Kits page of our website.
