
Join us ONLINE for the first of three programs exploring explore Missouri’s past, present, and future through an environmental justice lens. The programs will be led by Leah Clyburn, senior training representative with the Sierra Club and co-author of the incisive 2019 report Environmental Racism in St. Louis.
This first program, What is Environmental Justice and Its History in the Midwest, will cover the history of environmental justice in Missouri and create a foundation for the second and third programs.
All three programs in the Missouri: 1821-2221 series are free and open to all, and will be held virtually via Zoom. The Library will also broadcast the presentation portion of each program on the Library’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

NASA’s human lunar exploration plans under the Artemis Program call for sending the first woman and next man to the surface of the Moon by 2024 and establishing sustainable exploration by the end of the decade. Join us ONLINE at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29 for an interactive discussion of the Artemis program led by Christopher Lhotak. Mr. Lhotak is a Solar System Ambassador for NASA and the Jet Propulsion Lab & an avid space enthusiast. Mr. Lhotak has a master’s level education and is an Adjunct Professor at a local university.
During this discussion, Mr. Lhotak will explain how NASA will soon be going back to the Moon and then to Mars by working with U.S. companies and international partners in the Artemis Program.
