Welcome to the brave new world of …

… now at University City Public Library!

What is Minecraft?
As worded on the Minecraft.net website: “Minecraft is a game about breaking and placing blocks. At first, people built structures to protect against nocturnal monsters, but as the game grew players worked together to create wonderful, imaginative things.”  At UCPL, we offer two primary modes of gameplay, Creative and Survival.  In Creative mode, there are no monsters, the world is flat (no terrain), and provides the most basic foundation for building and imagination.  In Survival mode, players experience a multitude of challenges from finding food, to building shelter, to defending against other players and monsters!
Have your own Minecraft account and want to get started?
Let’s get building!  Simply sign up by filling out the UCPL Minecraft Server Access form.   Filling out a form can be boring, with just a few questions, but please review the usage terms and conditions from the form before accepting.
What if I don’t have my own Minecraft account?
Not a problem!  The library offers guest accounts available for checkout.  At your next visit, pick up the UCPL Minecraft Guest kit which includes the Minecraft guest account name, password, and information on how to get connected.
Let us know what you think!
Send us an e-mail to minecraft@ucitylibrary.org and tell us about your experience.  We hope to provide fun and creative environments in which to learn, build and explore!

Have Fun!
